Hello there, I’m Tello!

Background

I’m a native Texas born and raised in Katy, a small suburb outside of Houston, and moved to Austin in 2007 to attend The University of Texas. While in college, I had the chance to spend a semester abroad in Milan, Italy which ended up fundamentally changing my perspective on the world and my goals in life. Needless to say, the man that left for Milan all those years ago never really returned…

In 2011 I graduated with a degree in finance, a minor in economics, and landed a consulting job in New York City. All in all, the job gave me the chance to pay off my student loans, begin saving up for future travels, and finally achieved my childhood dream of living and working next to the World Trade Center… but I was no longer the same person and I couldn’t get rid of the itch to travel.

Life in the City

Now don’t get me wrong, NYC is fantastic and I have loved the time I have been able to spend in the city; however, it comes at a price. Working 60+ hours a week (when I’m not traveling to work) doesn’t leave much time for… well, anything else in life. I have realized that if I ever intend on taking the trips that I want, I have to begin planning for them now.

[just [be] happy]

This blog was created as a repository for all of my travel plans and favorite music. Since I am starting from scratch like most people, I figured this would be a good way to get feedback and prevent others from having to reinvent the wheel. As time progresses, I hope this site becomes a resource for people looking for both useful travel information as well as entertaining stories.

In the end, the goal of this blog is to share what I love with the world. Seeing as how travel and music blogs played such a pivotal role in my life, I want to pass along what has been given to me. I hope that my experiences, stories, and music bring some sort of happiness to others, especially those of you spending 40+ hours a week locked in a cubicle.

I look forward to sharing all of my adventures and great music that lie ahead! Feel free to reach out via email, Facebook, Twitter, etc. I would love the opportunity to chat with you!
