Strangers – Seven Lions with Myon and Shane 54 ft. Tove Lo

Happy Tuesday! Your morning is about to get just a little bit brighter. Seeing as how my mood is basically a crapshoot early in the week, I had some difficulty in choosing a track. Some tranquil trance? high-spirited house? maybe some destructive dubstep? How’s about all three?

Whoever said you can’t have your cake and eat it too was full of crap.

Especially if it’s chocolate.

And has sprinkles.

The track “Strangers” has it all: an ethereal vocal coupled with an energetic melody and a little “wub-wub” to top it all off. So whatever mood you happen to find yourself in – I’ve got you covered.

The track starts off with a light, airy beat and quickly shifts into 4th gear with a heavy bassline to help get things going. Almost as quickly as it appears, the bassline cuts out and you are left with a barely audible melody hovering in the background. Slowly an ethereal, trance-like voice emerges from the noise and washes away any worries or issues you may have.

As the pace quickens, you begin singing along to the vocal in your head and you feel a small chill rush down your back. Just as you prepare for the buildup and a soothing transition into the track’s chorus, the rug is pulled out from under you at the last minute and instead you get – dubstep!

Well at least a PG version of it – not quite as ear splitting as the full-strength variety.

Now that the track has your full attention, it down-shifts back to the celestial vocal and dives into another buildup. At this point, you think you know everything this song has offer, but once again you find yourself flat on your ass when the track detours into a fantastic house melody. As far as I’m concerned, you couldn’t ask for a better deal.

Even better than when the vending machine mistakenly gives you two bags of peanut M&Ms!

My weekdays aren’t very exciting. *sigh*
